CareWell Urgent Care Regional Radiology Technologist in Worcester, Massachusetts

CareWell is seeking a dependable full-time Traveling Radiology Technologist for our state-of-the-art urgent care facility Worcester, MA (2 locations) Northborough, and Marlborough, MA locations.  Our ideal candidate is friendly and has excellent communication skills and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. 

We are offering a $2,000 sign on bonus after completing (30) days, $1,000 after completing (6) months, and $1,000 after completing (1) year.

Our centers are open (7) days per week 8AM to 8PM. This position offers the opportunity to select the schedule from one of the full-time scheduling options including every other weekend:

  • Three 12-hour shifts

  • Four 10-hour shifts

  • Five 8-hour shifts

     

    Job Summary: The Traveling Radiology Technologist provides a critical service to multiple urgent care centers in an assigned region, allowing us to identify problems within the patient’s body without needing to wait in an emergency department waiting room.  When not performing X-Rays the Traveling Radiology Technologist , will conduct lab call backs, lab documentation and support the centers in the region by completing key roles and duties and putting patient care skills to good use.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities: Traveling Radiology Technologist - tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies, replenish supplies onsite

  • Partners with regional manager and practice managers to provide insight, support and recommendations into the scheduling of the radiology services

  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.

  • Prepares patient for radiological procedures.

  • Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.

  • Running and resulting in house point of care testing (strep, mono, flu, COVID, Urine Analysis, etc)

  • Completing 48 hour follow up calls for patients after their visit

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.

  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments

  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results that support the region, as needed

  • Prepare and/or clean examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments

  • Conducts lab call backs and corresponding documentation

  • Take patient histories and vital signs

  • Prepare patient for examination and treatment

    Education & Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Current state ARRT license, required.

  • Experience in urgent care/emergency room settings preferred.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have any direct reports.

     

    Work Environment:  This job operates in a fast-paced urgent care/medical office setting and includes possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

     

    Physical Demands:  Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

     

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This traveling role supports multiple centers within the region all of which operate (7) days per week, 8AM to 8PM. Full-time employees will be assigned one of the following shift schedules, based on business needs and manager discretion: (5) five 8-hour shifts, (4) four 10-hour shifts or (3) three 12-hour shifts and every other weekend to support regional radiology technology coverage.

     

    Travel: Travel is required to and from centers within the assigned regional territory. These are typically, but not guaranteed to be within, a 50-mile radius of one another. Mileage is reimbursed when travel happens outside of the assigned territory.
