State of Massachusetts Physical Therapist III in Worcester, Massachusetts
This position has the option to be based out of Springfield, Worcester, or Northampton, MA based on the needs of the program.

The Physical Therapist III is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals in this field to make a significant difference in the lives of the individuals who are supported by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This position will provide clinical and administrative supervision for 3 staff which include two Physical Therapist II’s, and one Physical Therapist Assistant. This position also provides administrative supervision for one Occupational Therapist. In addition, this position will provide direct services to address the physical therapy needs of the individuals supported by the DDS State-Operated Community programs in the Central/West Region. This position will also provide consultative services for the individuals supported through the Central/West Area Offices.
The Physical Therapist III functions as a member of a multi-discipline clinical support team. This position provides comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, direct diagnostic and treatment services, and recommendations for individuals with unique and complex needs who are supported by DDS in the Central/West Region. In addition, this position provides education and training in physical therapy services to individuals, staff and families to support implementation of guidelines and treatment plans, as well as monitors, evaluates, and documents outcomes.
The Physical Therapist III provides clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff. This includes the review and evaluation of clinical work, supervisory sessions, and formal and informal training in order to assure physical therapy recommendations meet accepted standards of practice. In addition, the Physical Therapist III will act as a mentor to physical therapy staff in order to promote continued professional development and broaden the Central/West Region’s expertise and ability to provide appropriate interventions. The Physical Therapist III will provide or arrange in-service training for professional and ancillary staff in treatment approaches and interventions for individuals with physical therapy needs.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Days Off: Sunday/Saturday

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least three years of full-time, or equivalent part- time, professional experience as a physical therapist of which at least two years must have been in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity.
Possession of a current and valid Physical Therapist license issued by the Massachusetts Division of Licensure Board of Allied Health Professionals in accordance with Chapter 667 of the Acts of 1982.
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
