Community Healthlink Nurse Manager- Office Based Opioid Treatment in Worcester, Massachusetts

Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a fulltime (37.5 hrs/wk) Nurse Manager in Worcester, MA.

The Outpatient Mental Health Clinic is a multidisciplinary team working with individuals with acute and chronic mental illness, major mental illnesses (such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder), Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders, co-occurring substance use conditions and physical health and developmental conditions.

The program embraces evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Multiple Family Therapy Group, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and optimize the outcome of our clients.

The Nurse Manager will ensure all nursing practices are consistent with all regulatory, licensing, and contractual requirements and with Community Healthlink’s True North.

  • Responsible for management of the OBOT programs in Worcester and Leominster consistent with all applicable regulations, contractual expectations, and best clinical practices.

  • Participation in and coordination with HEALing Communities Project.

  • Responsible for meeting reporting requirements for funders.

  • Supervision of OBOT staff.

  • Coordination and collaboration with clinic Directors and Administrative Managers, with internal and external programs and professionals, and with providers in primary care and behavioral health.

  • Supervision of RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants in the Adult Outpatient behavioral health and primary care programs

  • Regularly reviews staff clinical documentation to ensure quality and timeliness of completion.

  • Coordinates scheduling and adequate nursing coverage to ensure a smooth flow of daily clinical operations during hours of operations.

  • Schedule of staff, coverage, block out ECW with working hours and availability, meetings, and admin time for nursing staff.

  • Responsible for recruiting, staffing, and scheduling of nurses and medical assistants in the clinic

  • Ensures that nursing staff and medical assistants are competent in phlebotomy and immunization administration.

  • Provide direct nursing services to patients in these programs as needed

  • Implement and monitor nursing practices consistent with agency policies and procedures

  • Designs, evaluates and monitors nursing practice workflows and triage protocols to ensure service excellence, operational efficiency, and maximization of the functions of nursing.

  • Participate in the creation and implementation of nursing triage protocols

  • Provides coaching, training, and completion of performance reviews with nursing staff

  • Provides clinical staff with information, education and tools to ensure they are supporting efficient patient flow and quality telephonic triage within the practices

  • Participate with other Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing in the development and implementation of core clinical competencies for nursing staff

  • Participate with other Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing in the creation and implementation of a comprehensive orientation for all new nurses.

  • In collaboration with the Medical Director of the Adult Outpatient Clinic, Medical Director of Primary Care, Director of Practice Management, and Adult Outpatient Center Director, provides leadership in the clinic to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective care.

  • Participate with other Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing in the development of process improvements such as: evaluating and improving nursing workflows, nurse triage protocol for patients, patient follow-up care with nurses, medication needs, documentation requirements and standards, as well as care coordination.

  • Participate in the Nursing Management Team and the Adult Outpatient Management Team, drug diversion, medication error, Primary Care, OBOT, Open Access, and staff meetings

  • Oversees a supply inventory management system. Oversees the ordering, delivery and reconciliation of clinic administered medications, vaccines and tests.

  • Collaborate with other Nurse Managers of Primary Care and the Director of Practice Management on clinical supply ordering (Medline, Vaccine Shoppe, Airgas, Unitex, McKesson, Alphagraphics, WB Mason, etc).

  • Reviews and follow-ups with members of the clinic team, that patients are receiving the necessary care including but not limited to the coordination of scheduling follow up visit to ensure continuity of care.

  • Support Residents in their orientation to the program

  • Work collaboratively with outside agencies to coordinate patient care

  • Participates in quality and safety initiatives, including but not limited to regular documentation, reporting and dissemination of quality improvement activities.

  • Oversees practice registry activities related to population health efforts.

  • Ensures that nursing staff are maintaining infection control measures in exam rooms, med room, fridge temps, fridge logs, check oxygen levels and emergency kits.

  • Ensures that nursing staff are checking fridge temps, vaccine dates, Narcan, Oxygen, AED and emergency kit supplies (see logs in med room or kits).

  • Ensures that staff are documenting in-office labs, rapid strep, and pregnancy tests in compliance with DPH requirements (see book in clean room).

  • Encourages and supports diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, respect, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing required

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in behavioral health/primary care/integrated care nursing services

  • Experience using electronic medical records, MassPAT

  • Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment and experience in Office Based Addiction Treatment Management experience or demonstration of leadership in a nursing position

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts

  • CARN Certification preferred

  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
