Community Healthlink Director of Nursing in Worcester, Massachusetts

Since 1977, Community Healthlink, Inc. has been helping adults, children, and families to recover from the effects of mental illness, substance abuse, and homelessness. CHL believes that integrated care is vital to recovery and offers accessible, coordinated, primary health care on-site, for adults who have difficulty accessing primary care services, or who are not receiving their primary health care elsewhere.

  • The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services across the organization.

  • In collaboration with nurse managers across the organization, allocates department resources in an efficient and economic manner.

  • Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of Community Healthlink.

  • The Director of Nursing provides leadership to assure alignment in achieving organizational expectations of employee engagement, distinctive patient services, provision of quality and safe services and fiscal responsibility.

  • The primary role of the Director of Nursing in achieving organizational expectations is as a communicator, facilitator and translator of the organizational expectation

  • Assures the team leaders and staff employees have the human and fiscal resources to effectively accomplished an engaged workforce, distinctive patient services and the provisions of quality and safe services.

  • Master of Nursing degree required and a current Massachusetts RN license

  • Minimum of 10 years experience including nursing and management

  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing.

  • Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

  • Ability to make presentations before top management, public groups, and staff.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Effective supervisory skills as well as problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to work overtime. Must be available on an “on-call” basis.

  • Wears a pager to be summoned to the facility in an emergency and is expected to report to the facility in an emergency.

  • Current valid US-issued drivers license and registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including travel between work sites

  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
