Full Time Schedule is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and includes every other weekend
The Certified Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing the highest possible patient care through dispensing quality medications as prescribed by a physician.
Accurately filly physician medication orders under the direction of the Pharmacist.
Properly deliver narcotics in accordance with Massachusetts State Law, as well as stock medications, to each unit
Familiarity with Automated Medication Dispensing Machines (Pyxis experience)
Load and unload medications from AMD
Practices within the scope of certification.
Receives outside vendor medications and medical supplies per hospital procedures and stores in proper areas.
Reclaims medications from discharged patients and returns to the AMD or Pharmacy.
Pulls outdated medications and prepares them for return.
Maintains AMD with accurate medication at appropriate levels to meet the needs of the Hospital.
Competent in the use of computers.
Performs clerical duties as instructed.
Demonstrates conduct in keeping with American Addiction Center ethical standards and Code of Conduct.
Demonstrates professionalism and commitment to Teamwork at all times.
Attends all mandatory in-services, safety training and annual trainings.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have experience using Pyxis.
Completion of a board approved pharmacy technician training program.
Preferred some form of college credits
Completed board approved training program or have completed a minimum of 500 hours of employment as a pharmacy technician trainee or medication administration program.
Passed board approved Pharmacy Technician Assessment Examination administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or pharmacy employer, current or in one year.
