The Air & Space defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Contracts with the Upper Tier Missile Defense program area. This role will lead the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) TYP-2 Radar Production Portfolio with the U.S. Government. The portfolio consists of contract execution for domestic production and large FMS production, as well as the capture of a large production contract for another FMS customer and additional domestic captures. This position will lead and support a team of 2-3 Contracts Professionals.

In this role, you will be responsible for customer communication, contract management, change management, coordination of invoicing, fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. You will need to utilize regular application of thorough business acumen and subject matter expertise to understand program performance requirements, provide guidance, and influence results in support of program and financial objectives. Additionally, the Senior Manager, Contracts is required to work closely with Program Management leadership, the Office of General Counsel, and cross-functional peers in support of program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, risk management activities, and all other contractual related matters affecting the portfolio.

The successful candidate will work with both internal and external customers to ensure programs' performance, provide guidance, and influence outcomes to achieve desired results. This role directly supports real world events.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and support a team of contracts personnel

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions.

  • Implement strategies to improve acquisition timelines and customer pace of contractual actions.

  • Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking creative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes.

  • Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards.

  • Negotiate complex awards

  • Some domestic travel will be required to meet with the customer.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience

  • Experience working Government or Defense contracts administration under the FAR, DFARS and/ or other related government regulations and various contract types such as: CPAF, CPIF, CPFF, FFP, T&M, OTA, Agile

  • Experience as a Contracts Lead or direct engagement with external customers

  • Experience in compliance with Global Trade requirements such as RGEMS, ITAR/EAR regulations, technology releasability under Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), and/or Manufacturing Licensing Agreements (MLA) or other closely related compliance experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust

  • Excellent communication and leadership to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential

  • Cross-functional experience in Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, Business Development, or Program Management

  • Active US Government DoD Secret Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
