Ethos Veterinary Health Diagnostic Imaging Internship - Greater Boston Area in Woburn, Massachusetts
The Diagnostic Imaging department at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital (https://massvet.ethosvet.com/) , located in Woburn Massachusetts, invites applications for a 1-year veterinary diagnostic imaging internship. The program will run from July 10, 2023-July 12, 2024.
Program description: The internship will provide supervised training by four onsite DACVR radiologists and three residents in small animal diagnostic imaging. Additional support will be provided by other DACVR radiologists within the Ethos Veterinary Health network of hospitals. The successful candidate will gain introductory experience in small animal radiographic interpretation and dictation, fluoroscopic procedures, ultrasonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Hands-on clinical ultrasound training and foundations of radiograph interpretation will be a primary focus of the internship.
Other internship expectations include participation in known case conferences, diagnostic imaging rounds, interdisciplinary house officer rounds, journal club, and creation of a continuing education presentation. Additionally, the intern will be encouraged to undertake a diagnostic imaging research project or preparation of a case report for publication and presentation.
Schedule: The internship will consist of a 5-day work week, with 70% in diagnostic imaging and 30% in the emergency department (up to 3 shifts/2 weeks).
Salary and Benefits: The internship will pay $55,000 and you will qualify for full-time benefits including receiving 5 days of paid time off. You will also receive up to 5 paid days for continuing education time off with an allowance of $2,000.00 that is typically used to attend ACVR in October. Participation in holiday coverage in the emergency department will be determined by hospital leadership.
