Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday - 9:00pm-7:00am
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - 9:00pm-7:00am
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the CAT scan supervisor, performs Computerized Tomography procedures in accordance with established department protocols. Assists Radiologists during special procedures as needed.
CT Scan Technologist, Full Time Nights, $10,000 Sign-on Bonus, Benefits on Day One
Job Description:
Greets escorts, assesses, educates and identifies patients making the patients feel welcomed and comfortable and fulfilling all safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.
Completes CT examinations following established exam protocols established by CT Radiologist.
Administers contrast intravenously, assesses IV site and operates IV contrast injector.
Enters examinations correctly, ensuring accurate and informative documentation and appropriate charges are entered.
Electronically sends and stores images and data appropriately in PACS.
Maintains all department records and logs to monitor quality and safety in accordance with departmental policies.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment presenting the best possible impression of facilities and fostering our culture of safety.
Responds to supply and equipment issues timely to ensure optimum operations and equipment quality and long-term equipment maintenance and life.
Transports and provides ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.
Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patients’ experience.
Communicates effectively with the healthcare team utilizing established handoff procedures. Gives and accepts respectful feedback to enhance teamwork.
Minimizes preventable harm events and consistently executes the infection control protocols. Incorporates the Culture of Safety tools in daily practice, adhering to quality and safety guidelines and communicating near-miss or potential risks.
Coordinates work schedule with departmental supervisor and the Radiology Manager to maintain adequate staffing levels to meet our patients’ and physicians’ need
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Required: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and
- one year diagnostic technology
or
- Graduate of an accredited CT advanced program.
Preferred: Advance education in CAT scan technology
Experience:
Required: One year diagnostic technology
Preferred: One year of CT
Other Skills/Knowledge:
Required: For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate
effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team
Preferred: IV competent
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
ARRT registered in Radiology and CT
Massachusetts State license in Radiology and CT
IV Certification within 6 months of hire
CT Techs hired prior to 3/24/17 must obtain their State license in Radiology and CT within 24 months of their hire.
