About the Job
Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by performing the dual role of Central Sterile Technician and staff supervisor. This leadership position ensures that the Central Sterile employees at a particular site are providing and meeting the sterile materials needs of surgical services in compliance with applicable regulations and to quality levels. As a member of the Hospital’s leadership team provides day-to-day supervision to guide staff toward achieving the Hospital’s success factor goals and their associated initiatives. This leadership position will impact patient safety and will also impact employee satisfaction by making Winchester Hospital an employer of choice.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Graduate of a Sterilization Technician program
At least three years as a Central Sterile Technician. One year of prior supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of the third year of CMS experience
Surgical Instrumentation/equipment experience
Prior supervisor experience
Computer experience related to an Operating Room Schedule for case cart processing, Instrument and Inventory Management
Demonstrated ability to lead or take charge
For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with fellow members of the hospital team
Preferred: Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma or other project management techniques
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS:
- Required: Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (C.R.C.S.T.) within 1 year from hire/promotion.
