Title: Safety Supervisor, MA Manufacturing
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location : Whately, MA
Direct and overall responsibility for the development and continuous improvement and execution of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures for the Home Fragrance Manufacturing Location in Whately, MA. This position will provide support to the Manufacturing leadership team in achieving their goals to eliminate work related injuries and achieve world class safety cultures. Support includes evaluation of the worksite, training in safety and OSHA related matters, proactive analysis of loss experience and recommendation regarding worksite safety practices.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop,direct and lead health and safety (H&S) strategy, programs, initiatives andoverall H&S direction
Promoteworld class safety culture by raising expectations and set standards tomaintain and assess a robust, effective EHS Management System
Directinitiatives aimed at improving the safety culture consistent with companyprinciples and values
Developsand implements company health and safety procedures, processes, and programswhich ensure the safety of the operations, which are compliant with OSHA andother local, state, and federal rules and regulations
Developsand implements safety awareness programs, which are behavior-based andcontribute to increased awareness of core safety program elements.
Participatein the investigation, documentation and analysis of accidents and injuries andmaintains a follow-up system to ensure corrective action is promptlyimplemented.
Responsiblefor serving as a technical resource to support associates, at all levels, onsafety-related issues
Analyzesand assesses plant safety trend data to drive safety resource allocation, andergonomic initiatives to reduce injuries.
Maintain agood relationship with Workers’ Compensation TPA’s and manages claims,including return to work practices
Facilitates,develops and maintains existing safety programs to improve on the SEALassessment score year after year
Maintains locationand retail OSHA logs, written safety plans, training records and otherreporting requirements
Responsiblefor inspecting the facility to detect existing or potential accident and healthhazards and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
Conducts/participatesin site meetings and promotes an open line of communication with other teammembers
Completespecial assignments and projects on an as needed basis
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturingenvironment.
Actionoriented – results driven

Strongleadership, coaching and relationship building skills
Proventrack record of results in a fast-changing environment
Experiencein project planning and management
Ability togain employee commitment to site and company objectives
Bachelor’sdegree in Safety Management, EH&S, Engineering, or other relevant technicalfields required
Experiencein a manufacturing, distribution and retail environment preferred
Subjectmatter expert in Health, Safety and Environmental topics.
Experiencein implementing safety culture improvement programs preferred
Proficiencyin MS office and safety management information systems.
Exceptionalorganizational and communications skills
Provenleadership skills, ability to foster employee engagement
Knowledgeablein Workers’ Compensation case management including transition to work programs
Ability towork independently, with minimum supervision, under the guidance of the Sr.Logistics Manager within the stated objectives and guidelines of the company
Be able totravel as needed
