Responsible for the quality, compliance, and accreditation requirements for our specialty and retail pharmacies which are regulated by multiple state boards of pharmacy, federal agencies, and various accrediting bodies including but not limited to URAC, ACHC, CPPA, and TJC. Serves as primary point of contact for all pharmacy related audits. Oversees the Specialty Pharmacy Quality Management Program and all requirements associated with our accreditations.

Job Description:

Serves as point of contact, coordinating and collaborating with URAC, ACHC, CPPA, TJC, and other accreditation entities and business partners to ensure compliance with all accreditation requirements. Prepares organization for accreditation submissions, reviews and reaccreditation. Leads the Specialty Pharmacy Quality Management Committee in accordance to the policies and procedures developed to maintain compliance with the various accrediting bodies, quality related duties will entail at least 10% of job function. Ensures that all quality related projects, data collection, reporting, and metrics are accurate, up to date and reported as required to maintain accreditation. Oversees and ensures compliance with the licensing and registration requirements of all staff and facilities. Reviews Board of Pharmacy regulations in states where we are licensed in order to ensure that we are compliant with all current and pending rules and regulations. Develops tools/programs that assist in determining exposure to accreditation risks and identifies opportunities to manage and mitigate those risks. Develops, manages, and tracks training material required for maintaining accreditation with various accrediting bodies. Creates and manages complex quality improvement projects annually or as required by our various accrediting bodies. Prepares and distributes various reports to key stakeholders. Meets with departmental staff and leadership to review reports or requests for data. Provides occasional staffing coverage in the specialty pharmacy to assist with day to day operations along with gaining insight to the operation and potential quality, compliance, and accreditation shortcomings/issues. Trains new staff on the quality, compliance, and accreditation requirements of the specialty pharmacy. Develops and maintains policy and procedures pertaining to retail and specialty pharmacy. Assumes responsibility of the Pharmacy manager when manager is either not reachable and/or unavailable.
