Location: Onsite, Westwood, Massachusetts, 25-30 Hours per week

Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and tech-savvy Data Collection and Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to acquire and curate imaging data samples for use in training our AI models. These data samples are representative of items through the mail and are typically created by combing typical mail with commercial availability items or household chemicals. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to meticulously perform image data collection activities. The position is nominally 25-30 hours per week, with flexible work times within our core weekday business hours of 8 am to 6 pm in Westwood, Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities:
Under guidance, create and collect data on various test samples.
Acquire and organize the data samples by using our innovative terahertz imaging system.
Accurately label and annotate the data samples according to predefined criteria, conducting data validation checks to maintain data integrity.
Collaborate with team members focused on the accuracy, diversity, and relevance of the collected sample data for training artificial intelligence algorithms.
Provide regular updates and reports on data collection progress and contribute to process improvement.
Qualifications:
General understanding of lab safety and procedures. Wet chemistry lab experience preferred.
Interest in and basic understanding of AI learning concepts preferred.
Proven experience in performing routine tasks such as data collection or data and annotation, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with using Windows based computers and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
