Tufts Medicine Medical Assistant - Urgent Care in Westford, Massachusetts

Sign On Bonus: Eligible For Up To $5,000.

If you are an experienced Medical Assistant we would love to talk with you about joining our team. Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital Urgent Care centers provide walk-in, urgent care for non-life threatening conditions and other ailments that require prompt medical attention. Unlike many other urgent care clinics, our Urgent Care centers are staffed with experienced urgent care physicians from Merrimack Valley Emergency Associates who are available onsite during operating hours. With facilities located in Billerica, Dracut, Tewksbury and Westford.

Hours: 36 horus a week, 8am-8pm, every 3rd Saturday Location: 198 Littleton Road, Westford, MA 01886


The Medical Assistant has both clinical and clerical responsibilities and will perform either role at any given time to assure uninterrupted patient care. The Medical Assistant performs various clinical/administrative functions in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a high level of organization, multitasking, and superior clinical and customer service skills.

  • Work up patient in a timely manner, including: obtain vital signs, urinalysis and blood glucose, allergy and medication lists and reconciliation of lists, documenting all information in EPIC.

  • Pre-visit planning

  • Collect and prepare specimens and relevant documentation for transportation to off-site laboratory, assuring accuracy in labeling and documenting.

  • Assist with, and set up for any procedures that have been taught through formal training.

  • Provide back up coverage for the front office as needed

  • Responsibilities for quality measure tracking

  • Prepare and replenish medical supplies, maintain an inventory in a cost-effective, patient employee safe manner.

  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners in all procedures related to patient examinations.

  • Provides instructions and education to patients as instructed by providers.

  • Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain diagnostic equipment.

  • Anticipate necessary labs, reports and consults the provider may need.


  • Medical Assistant Certification

  • High Diploma required

  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience is preferred

  • Urgent Care experience preferred
