Next Step Health Care Registered Nurse (RN) in Wareham, Massachusetts

Wareham Health Care is looking for full and part time Registered Nurses (RN) for 7-3, 3-11 & 11-7 shifts.

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the registered nurse delivers efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and resident/ family satisfaction. He/she operates within the scope of practice defined by the state nurse practice act and delegates aspects of patient care to the team consistent with their scope of practice. The registered nurse manages patient care by performing nursing assessments, administering medications and treatments. Must collaborate with the nursing team and other disciplines, residents, and families to develop effective plans of care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor resident activity and provide nursing care, according to physiciansâ orders, care plans, established standards and facility policies.

  • Coordinate and assist or prepare for new admissions, transfers, and discharge of residents.

  • Transcribe physicians telephone orders and communicate with residents, families, and other interdisciplinary team members and management.

  • Administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies.

  • Assist and participate in developing and implementing a written care plan for individual residents that addresses the needs of the resident.

  • Supervise other professional and non-professional staff in the day to day delivery of resident care.

  • Assist in scheduling job assignments and developing nursing unit priorities under the direction of a supervisor.

  • May assist in orienting new staff and participate and selection of nursing staff.

  • Monitor work assignment, provide feedback, and assist a supervisor in evaluating performance and redirect and discipline as needed.

Requirements:

GRADUATE OF AN APPROVED SCHOOL OF NURSING IS REQUIRED

MUST BE CURRENTLY LICENSED BY THE STATE BOARD OF NURSING

Experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply!
