Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Precision Medicine Pathology Group to design and implement novel tissue-based assays to support the development and commercialization of medically-differentiated therapies in oncology and other therapeutic areas. This position will develop and validate tissue-based assays to support discovery, translational and CDx work across therapeutic areas. He/she will also be involved in the development of next generation tissue based assays in the areas of multiplexing, image analysis, and spatial profiling. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment and will participate as a member of multidisciplinary, cross-functional development project teams.
Major Responsibilities
Independently designs, validates, and implements novel tissue-based assays for individual projects and/or therapeutic areas with a key responsibility to ensure delivery of highly specific and robust assays to meet project timelines.
Performs histochemical, IHC, and IF staining using automated platforms such as Leica Autostainer XL, Ventana Discovery ULTRA, Leica BOND RX and Vectra Phenoimager XT
Perform image capture and analysis, data entry and organization using platforms such as (but not limited to) Leica Aperio imager and associated software.
Supports the general pathology needs of project teams through the effective design and execution of hypothesis-driven studies utilizing tissue based assays.
Generate data and present findings to relevant project teams in departmental and cross-functional meetings.
Supports the PMED Pathology lab through performing routine histological procedures including tissue accessioning, gross-dissection, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and image capture of frozen and FFPE tissues
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of histology experience, Master’s with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years
Expertise in standard histological techniques including grossing, processing, embedding, paraffin and cryo-sectioning
Expertise in the development of immunohistochemistry (IHC) and other tissue-based assays including immunofluorescence (IF) multiplexing and in situ hybridization (ISH)
Experience in quantitative image analysis software and its application to IHC and other tissue-based staining modalities
Strong computer literacy
Excellent organization and communication skills, and a motivation to learn new tools and techniques
Ability to think strategically, manage time and workflows and work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
