Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston PACU Clinical Supervisor in Waltham, Massachusetts

Boston Eye Surgery & Laser Center (BESLC) has two locations, Boston and Waltham. Both surgery centers have been specifically designed for surgical and laser treatment of the eye. Boston Eye Surgery & Laser Center locations are licensed by the State of Massachusetts and are Medicare certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare, Inc. All procedures at the Center are performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Patients return to the comfort of their own home with minimal disruption and discomfort. Most surgical procedures, including pre-and post-operative care require a stay of less than three hours.

We currently have an opening for a PACU Clinical Supervisor in our Waltham location.

Summary of Duties:

The PACU Clinical Supervisor is an RN responsible for total patient care during the pre-operative and postoperative periods. In addition, the Preop/Pacu supervisor is responsible for the clinical staff assigned to the respective areas and maintaining a safe working environment for all patients, staff and family members.

  • Quality of Care:

  • Responsible for the establishment and upholding of BESLC's┬ápolicies and procedures;

  • Acts as liaison between the physicians and the patient care team;

  • Maintains various logs and inventory;

  • Supervises and coordinates operational efficiency of equipment and supplies;

  • Departmental Role:

  • Works closely with HR, OR Supervisor, Business Manager and Clinical Director for all hiring, coordinates new staff orientation and assists with annual reviews;

  • Safety:

  • Maintains current information and understanding of all ambulatory surgery regulations┬áset forth by the AAAHC, MA State Regulations & Medicare regulationss as informed by the Clinical Director.

  • Performs related job duties as required.


  • Graduate of a college or university and/or accredited school of nursing;

  • Must hold a current license from the State Board of Nursing to practice as an RN;

  • Experience in Preoperative/Pacu preferred;

  • Current BCLS & ACLS are mandatory.
