Robert Half Property Accountant in Wakefield, Massachusetts
Description
We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our team based in Wakefield, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be in charge of managing property level reporting for a number of individual assets within a larger industrial fund or portfolio. You will work under the supervision of the Portfolio Accountants and the Accounting Manager across all accounting functions necessary to support our growth.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process month-end close procedures for a portfolio of properties
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial packages for distribution to property managers and asset managers
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts for the assigned portfolio
• Engage in the preparation of quarterly and annual CAM reconciliations
• Monitor accounts receivables and manage cash receipts
• Administer and record cash transfers, including wires and check processing
• Oversee lender funding for construction requisitions and assist with debt compliance monitoring
• Regularly report to lenders
• Collaborate with asset managers and property managers to review annual budgets and quarterly reforecast for the assigned portfolio
• Aid the accounting team with various tasks as assigned
• Assist with the preparation for annual audits for various entities
• Conduct other ad hoc duties as needed.
Requirements • Applicants must have a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Yardi, Yardi Property Management, and Yardi Software is mandatory.
• Relevant experience in Commercial Real Estate is necessary.
• Candidates should have a strong background in Property Accounting.
• It is essential for applicants to have a solid understanding of accounting principles, specifically as they pertain to property management.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously is expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Applicants should be detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is a must.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
