Part-time veterinary assistant

Our AAHA-accredited, 12-doctor general and exotics practice is located in a new, state-of-the-art facility just 20 minutes north of Boston and 20 minutes south of New Hampshire.

What makes VCA Wakefield different?

• We have a meditation room that doubles as a lactation room for new moms, and we offer free subscriptions to Headspace and mental health support through Lyra Health.

• 4 of our doctors worked here before they went to vet school.

• 4 more of our doctors completed externships here while in vet school.

• Many of our vet assistants and CVTs joined us after completing tech externships or after working as client service representatives.

• When it comes to Fear Free™, we put our money where our mouth is. Our new (December 2020) facility is designed with separate entrances, lobbies, exam rooms, holding areas, and treatment areas for dogs and cats/exotics.

• We have iCalm music piped throughout the lobbies, exam rooms, and holding areas.

• All of our doctors and more than half of our associates are Fear Free™ Certified, and we’ll pay for your Fear Free™ Certification and veterinary technician classes to become eligible for the Veterinary Technician National Exam.

• We see 52.5% dogs, 25% cats, and 22.5% exotics (including reptiles, birds, small mammals, and aquatics).

• About 15% of animal hospitals are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, a distinction we’ve held for more than 40 years.

The successful candidates will share our commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional client service. We will consider part-time tech candidates that are available some evenings and weekends.
