State of Massachusetts Environmental Services First Shift Supervisor (Program Coordinator I) in Tewksbury, Massachusetts
Tewksbury Hospital under the Department of Public Health (DPH), a 370 bed Joint Commission accredited hospital is currently hiring for the position of * Environmental Services (EVS) Shift Supervisor (Program Coordinator I). This is a working supervisory position, 37.5 hours per week, 1st shift (7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.), The hospital provides a broad treatment of care and comfort to adults with medical and/or mental illnesses. The ideal candidate will possess prior Environmental Services supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. */This is a working supervisor position. /Assist the Director of Environmental Services with managing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping for the main healthcare facility and other support programs on campus. Mandatory to participate in training required to meet the facility policy/procedure, TJC, CMS, and other regulatory agency including ensuring EVS meets all required infection control standards for a healthcare facility. _Duties and Responsibilities (these are general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Assist the Director of Environmental Services with managing and directing the operations of the Housekeeping Department for the main healthcare facility consisting of a square footage of 650,000 and another 150,000 of square footage of support programs on campus. * Provides EVS departmental orientation and retraining annually or as necessary. * Inspects and evaluates physical condition of facility to ensure departmental compliance with TJC, CMS, Infection Control standards and regulatory compliance is maintained. * Plans staff scheduling of the day-to-day activities, project work, and emergency clean-up situations. * Participates in the interviewing, reference checking, selection, hiring, and staffing process. * Participates in personnel issues and disciplinary actions. * Responsible for EPRS process for the Housekeeping and Laundry Department following established policies/procedures. * Responsible for training direct reporting staff and ensuring that their staff is properly trained. * Participates in the maintaining and updating of policies and procedures for the Housekeeping Department. * Participates in purchasing and reviewing of products and equipment for the Housekeeping Department. * Participates on behalf of the Director of Environmental Services on hospital committees and other meetings as assigned. * Involves computer work; must be proficient in Microsoft Programs. * Performs other work-related tasks as assigned and operationally necessary. _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Prior EVS supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Excellent organizational and communication skills. _About Tewksbury Hospital:_ Tewksbury Hospital offers a broad range of services, including a physician on site all times, around-the-clock nursing care, rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, psychology services, social services, nutritional services, and an on-site dialysis clinic.
