Division Specific Information

The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Science Manufacturing and Recycling, to name a few. Its instruments are deployed in the field and on the line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on adaptability, reliability and ease of use. They allow them to make decisions where they operate and streamline their businesses. CAD is a sophisticated division with a global footprint, broad product portfolio and diverse customer base.

The Depot Repair Technician II is responsible for extensive internal contact with Tech Support, Calibration lab, and Engine repair lab. Duties include providing order preparation, tracking parts usage in Salesforce and Intuitive SW, prioritizing open orders, Parts shortage. Repair units and work closely in a team-oriented environment on a regular basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair handheld XRF instruments, and in-process units.

  • Provided detailed corrective actions for repair

  • Train fellow Depot technicians

  • Help Prioritize repairs with Team lead

  • Cross train on calibration process

  • Meet daily and weekly repair targets critical metrics

  • Keep accurate and ISO audit able records of product repairs, test results and other data.

  • Carry out Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements of the job function.

  • Carry out ISO9000 requirements including ESD, work area cleanliness, maintenance and calibration of equipment and work instruction adherence.

  • Attend in daily team stand-up meetings.

  • Build working relationships with co-workers, including employees in other departments (engineering, materials, etc.)

  • Perform transactions in MRP system.

  • Maintain a safe working environment, following established 5S procedures.

  • Troubleshoot failure modes as part of their own processes.

  • Responsible for processing work orders for the manufacture of components

  • Component soldering a plus

  • 5S practices

  • ESD environment

  • Computer knowledge a requirement

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Chemistry Degree a plus

  • 1-3+ year experience in a related field

  • Electronics background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Understanding of Data Entry and Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Proficient with Salesforce

  • Desire to work in a Service environment and provide customer happiness.

  • Detail oriented and ability to practice work safety.

  • Get information needed to do the job.

  • Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards.

  • Keep work area clean and orderly.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to follow work instructions and procedures and to use test equipment as needed.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong written English skills.

  • Show ability to work with small parts under microscope using tweezers and other small tools.

  • Operation of test systems (hardware and software)

  • Participate as a key member of the Depot Service team.

  • Work across departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Communicate feedback to Tech Support on repair status changes, revised quotes, parts delay, and approvals from customers.

  • Achieve fundamental knowledge of service product offerings.
