We are family owned and operated by the Essex Group Management Corp, servicing the health care needs of seniors for over 50 years. We specialize in Short and Long Term care, Rehab, Sub-acute care, and Alzheimer's Specialty care. Our facility also hosts an Assisted Living Facility, Adult Day Health Center, Senior Transportation and Home Care Services. If you share this passion and appreciate the rewarding feeling that comes from knowing you've made a positive impact on the lives of our elderly population and their families, then we would love to hear from you as soon as possible.The Blaire House of Tewksbury is seeking an energetic Occupational Therapist Assistant to uphold our high standards for senior care!Job SummaryResponsible for directing, modifying and administering occupational therapy modifying of treatment as supervised by the Occupational Therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Occupational Therapist, after the Occupational Therapist has evaluated the patient. The COTA assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The COTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Requirements

  • AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

  • Holds current certificate as Occupational Therapist Assistant.

  • Current BCLS certification.

Skills

  • Basic computer knowledge.

  • Basic knowledge of physical medicine, occupational therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.

  • Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same.
