Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsible to: Clinical Director Job Type: Contract position Works with: Program Directors, Program Managers, Program Staff and Volunteers, Funders, Community Partners and Community Participants Job Objective: The Nurse Practitioner will be an active and critical member of The Woman at the Well multidisciplinary care team, assist other prescribers in promoting and monitoring wellness and ensuring excellent care, and provide evidence-based therapies to our participants and families. The Woman at the Well will integrate mental health and substance use disorder treatment by offering a host of treatment services in a comfortable, safe and warm environment. Duties: - Provides diagnosis and discusses treatment plan with patients. - Builds a client base. - Provides excellent experiences for clients. - Obtains informed consent prior to therapy. - Completes and creates a database for client intake notes. Safeguards client confidentiality. - Follows hygiene rules deliberately. - Practices clean needle technique. - Does engage in dual relationships with clients. - Maintains professional appearance for self and therapy room. - Follows up on license renewals. - Seeks ongoing education. - Works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. The wellness team includes mental health therapists, PRN, peer leaders, yoga and meditation instructors, massage therapists etc. - Organizes community educating workshops in the facility. - Comply with local, state and federal confidentiality laws and regulations - Collaborate with professionals both within and outside the agency, as appropriate - Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences 2 - Provides staff trainings: universal health precautions and infection control, substance use disorders and medication management and other clinical trainings that are related to women?s health. Qualifications: - Active Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State Massachusetts in good standing; - An active and current DEA license; - Experience and understanding of chemical addiction is preferable; - Valid driver?s license required; - Experience prescribing to people with co-occurring disorders; - Nurse Practitioner with addictions certification/experience; - Willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team; - High integrity -Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Sound judgment - Efficient - Self-starter - Strong interpersonal communication skills
