Under supervision of O.R. Management and following established procedures, assists with the care of the patient in the Operating Room by transporting and lifting/positioning for surgery. Cleaning and assisting in operating room turnovers and by performing general errands as required by the nursing staff. Maintains general cleanliness and maintenance of the department.
Arrange for the efficient and orderly scheduling of elective, urgent and emergent surgical procedures following protocol accepted by Hospital Administration, Surgical Department, Anesthesia Department and the Operating Room Nursing Management.
Accurately schedules procedures.
Runs schedules/reports as requested
Obtains approval to schedule cases outside of approved hours.
Arranges the OR schedule in an efficient sequence, taking into consideration special needs or conflicts.
Inputs case record data accurately, obtains validation form from offices and validates cases are scheduled correctly.
Communicates changes in the schedule to appropriate individuals.
Maintains and files case scheduling date as a back-up for the computer system.
