State of Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse in Taunton, Massachusetts

Taunton State Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse who can provide nursing care to patients in an assigned area; administer treatment and medications; perform related work as required. Please Note/: /This position is 40 hours per week. The incumbent will work on the evening shift 2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. Days off are: Week 1 Wednesday/Saturday; Week 2 Sunday/Thursday /_Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ * Provides direct care to patients in assigned area including activities of daily living, meal supervision, escortsresponsibility for group activities as assigned, and orientation of patients to the ward. * Treats all patients with dignity and respect through interactions which affirm the individual's needs and preferences and by optimally integrating the patient perspective into all facets of care; will advocate for patients, facilitate timely resolution of patient concerns and assist patientsin the exercise of their rights. * Develops therapeutic relationships with individual patients, groups, and family members tofacilitate continuity of care. * Participates in the development and maintenance of a therapeutic milieu. * Supervises mental health workers in the performance of job responsibilities. * Attends rounds and treatment tearn meetings. Actively participates as an interdisciplinary team member. Collaborates in collecting data related to the assessment, planning, and evaluation process. /_Required Qualifications:_/ * Ability to work effectively with physically, mentally or emotionally disturbed patients. _About Taunton State Hospital_ Taunton State Hospital (TSH) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is a 45-bed inpatient facility that provides continuing care inpatient services to adults with major mental illnesses.
