Holyoke Chicopee Springfield Head Start Registered Dietitian in Springfield, Massachusetts

Registered Dietitian The Registered Dietitian position provides guidance, support, and oversight to ensure that nutrition services are culturally and developmentally appropriate. Meets the nutritional needs and accommodates the feeding requirements of each child, including children with special dietary needs or children with disabilities. Works very closely with the health and food service program areas for allergies, menu planning, and dietary modifications. Serves as the liaison for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Licensure Requirements: - Registered Dietitian or Licensed Nutritionist required Experience Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the nutrition field preferred - Previous experience working with childcare programs preferred - Experience in working with community partners preferred Qualities and Skills: - Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a diverse workplace - Working knowledge of the CACFP requirements and food choking hazards - Working knowledge of the nutrition issues of low-income, at-risk children - Ability to provide effective training in nutrition and technical assistance to staff and parents in nutrition - Computer Literacy: Word Processing and Database Skills - Ability and willingness to work as a team member - Ability to maintain and adhere to boundary guidelines - Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 119, Section 51A the Registered Dietitian is a mandated reporter and held to the statutory reporting requirements.
