Department: Daly PACU
Hours: 40 weekly
Schedule: Mon-Fri; 12:30-9pm, or 1:00pm to 9:30pm

New hires must be able to attend a 3 day orientation upon starting, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8a-4pm

Baystate Medical Center in Springfield (BMC) is a 716-bed academic medical center and is Massachusetts’ busiest emergency department and the region’s only Level 1 trauma center.
You will be responsible for:
Daily activities are coordinated by the RN
Performs a variety of technical tasks and bedside functions
Responsibilities include direct patient care; hygiene, skin care, mobility and monitoring
Multiskilled to needs of unit in performing duties relative to phlebotomy and EKGs
Expected to manage equipment and perform or assist in all procedures on unit
What you will need:
High School diploma or equivalent
C.N.A. or equivalent direct patient care experience
CPR required- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Qualified applicants will be evaluated as follows:
Patient Care Technician I will have no acute care experience
Patient Care Technician II must have at least one year of acute care experience or one year of experience in specialty specific setting
Patient Care Technician III must have at least three years of acute care experience with at least one year as Level II PCT at BMC. Meets all Level I and II requirements and skills.
