Operating Room Assistant

SCHEDULE:

• 36 hours, 12 hour shift

LOCATION:

• BMC Campus

• Springfield MA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, routinely performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities within the established policies and procedures of Perioperative and Heart & Vascular Services. The position requires interactions with all members of the health care team, patients, technicians, nurses, physicians, surgeons, and other suite/hospital staff. He/she assists with the turn over of the surgical suite rooms, inspection and cleaning of equipment, assisting the inventory specialist of stocking of supplies, patient transport, patient positioning and is authorized to pick up blood products from Transfusion Medicine Services as directed by the registered nurse and/or coordinator. The orderly has no supervisory duties. He/she reports directly to the Manager or another member of the Suite management team as designated by the Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Work Experience: 3-6 months in a hospital setting

The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
