SUMMARY: The Nurse Manger provides ongoing clinical and administrative oversight. Other Duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of The Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program. Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services. Oversees the day to day operation on the unit while advancing new person centered services and approaches by ensuring residents needs are being met. Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications (under the supervision of a physician and registered nurse). Establishes and documents patient treatment regimen under supervision of RN or MD and implements treatment. Assists with the hiring, training, ongoing education and supervising of nursing department staff with honesty and transparency, conducting timely performance review, monitoring attendance and adequate staffing to meet residents needs and implementing corrective action in a timely manner. Monitors and complies with safety regulations, infection control and quality of care through rounds, participation on various committees, discussions and meetings and reporting results of data collected to the ADON/DNS Participates in DPH, OSHA, CARF/CCAC and other survey/inspections and survey processes, working with their neighborhoods to ensure their readiness. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Education: Licensed Practical Nurse from an approved nursing program Required Experience: Long Term Care Nursing experience Preferred Experience: 2-5 years in LTC with managerial experience Licenses (Required/Preferred) Licensed Practical Nurse Skills/Compentencies: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to relate well to all residents, including the emotionally upset. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public. Ability to report to work regularly and promptly. Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
