VCA South Shore Weymouth Animal Hospital at http://www.vcahospitals.com/south-shore-weymouth is seeking a Veterinary Discharge Technician to join our team in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. This position is responsible for the successful transfer of patients from our emergency room and intensive care unit to home care by the clients. Whether the patient has been with us for a few or several days, it is important the client understands how to continue the high level of care needed for a successful and complete recovery.
Day to day responsibilities of the Veterinary Discharge Technician include: collaboration with the veterinarian to facilitate patient discharge from our hospital; communication with clients to schedule discharge appointments; careful review of discharge instructions and medications; preparing the patient to go home; comprehensive discussions with clients regarding at home care of their pet; follow up with the client to clarify any questions once the patient is home.
