VCA South Shore Weymouth Animal Hospital at http://www.vcahospitals.com/south-shore-weymouth is seeking a Kennel Supervisor to work at our busy, 24-hour emergency/referral/multi-specialty and general practice in South Weymouth, Massachusetts.
You will be supporting our leadership team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our boarding patients. In addition, you will help direct and grow our team of kennel and ward attendants. You will enjoy exposure to a diverse and stimulating caseload. Day to day responsibilities of the kennel supervisor include : overseeing the kennel and ward attendants, staff scheduling, hiring and training of new employees, feeding and caring for dogs and cats, administering medication. Essential skills for the kennel supervisor include: knowledge of proper handling techniques of dogs, cats and exotics, proper husbandry techniques for dogs and cats, delegating and supervising subordinates, hiring, training and development of staff.
Candidates for this position must have prior supervisory experience, be organized, flexible, able to work independently in addition to being a team player. We manage high caseloads in a fast-paced environment so it is also important that the candidate be able to work efficiently in times of stress.
Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends and some holidays.
