Town of Sandwich Administrative Offices Inspector of Buildings in Sandwich, Massachusetts
he Town of Sandwich, MA has an opening for a 40 hour per week Local Inspector of Buildings. Position reports to the Building Commissioner with primary duties consisting of inspection of residential and commercial construction, and the enforcement and interpretation of State Building Code, local zoning by-laws and other applicable regulations. Also, collaboratively works with other Town departments and staff on a wide variety of issues and provides professional assistance to various town boards and committees as directed. Attends evening meetings as directed. Must have a Local Inspector certification within 12 months of hire. Existing certification preferred, but not required. Must enforce regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially. Excellent computer and communication skills are essential. Starting Salary Range: \$70,000-\$80,000 with excellent benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, existing certification and experience.
