Job Description:
The Medication Clinic Admin performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the medication clinic within an ambulatory program to facilitate efficient operation.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains all aspects of the scheduling process of appointments for practitioner and physician.
Continually looks for ways to effectively use time and resources to deliver quality outcomes.
Maintains waitlist for next available appointment.
Knowledge of or ability to learn diverse programing, including payer and billing requirements within the medication clinic setting.
Generates appropriate reporting for managers and directors.
Maintains effective filing system for medical records.
Interviews consumer to obtain essential information necessary to meet clinic requirements.
Completes insurance eligibility approval and obtains initial authorization from insurance companies for all consumers, new and readmissions.
Coordinate prescription refill requests.
Manage sample medication cabinet with regular inventory checks and interactions with pharmaceutical representatives.
Preparation of timesheets and invoices for prescribers, as needed
Monitors fax machine periodically to retrieve faxes.
Assists practitioners and physicians with special projects.
Serves as a liaison between client care areas and pharmacy staff, hospitals and other referrals.
Other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualification:
High School Diploma / GED, a minimum of 1 year experience in a related field; multitasking, time management and strong attention to detail are essential.
Ability to work independently or on a team with other professionals.
Standard office administrative practices and procedures, including the use of standard office equipment; computer applications; Excel and Word, knowledge of electronic health records a plus; ability to utilize technology in order to manage reports, spreadsheets, etc.
Techniques for dealing effectively with the public and staff, in person and over the telephone.
