Town of Yarmouth Assistant Recreation Director in S Yarmouth, Massachusetts
The Town of Yarmouth is searching for an Assistant Recreation Director to join their Recreation team! Working under the general supervision of the Recreation Director, the Assistant Recreation Director performs a variety of recreational programming and administrative duties including planning, implementing, and supervising recreational programs and facilities for the community. The Assistant Recreation Director assists with recruitment and supervision of over 100 seasonal staff and volunteers and the management of the seasonal operations including but not limited to: beach, summer camp, and sailing operations. RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Duties require intensive knowledge of a specialized field equivalent to a Bachelor?s Degree and minimum 3 years progressively responsible relevant experience including 2 years supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience in recreation, sports management, hospitality, or related field. CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Instructor Certified desired. CPRP certification preferred. Minimal physical effort generally required for work performed in office. Moderate effort required in the field. Required to spend several hours standing, walking, reaching arms. Must have the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships. Position requires ability to operate a keyboard. Position requires ability to operate a motor vehicle.
