The Arc of Opportunity Direct Support Professional in Rutland, Massachusetts

A position as a Direct Support Professional, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, brain injury, autism, and more may be a good fit for you.

Direct Support Professionals are responsible for providing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role you will offer guidance, hands-on assistance, instruction, and implement individuals’ support plans to help program participants attain independence and integration in the community.

Position Schedule: Monday (7am - 3pm), Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (3pm - 11pm), Saturday (7am - 3pm)

Some of the duties of a Direct Support Professional are:

  • Assist individuals with personal care and hygiene as needed.

  • Provide light to medium housekeeping duties associated with residential programs.

  • Actively advocates for individuals served and demonstrates agency mission and values

  • Respect the human dignity and uniqueness of the people you support.

  • Act as a member of the integrated team, providing feedback, suggestions, etc. for program plans.

  • As required administer authorized and required medications.

  • Provide a safe living environment.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • Acceptable CORI/Finger printing and driving record are required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.

  • Be at least 18 years old.
