Out of ratio Overnight Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. You will assist in the planning and implementation of group home and residential services for assigned clients. Responsible for the safety and security of all clients in assigned group homes and residential programs. You will also provide therapeutic interventions as necessary.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health - Massachusetts is located in Rutland, MA and serves students with complex mental health and behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities may include managing personal hygiene, chores & room care, meals, medication administration, recreation activities, facilitating peer interactions & socialization, working on their treatment goals, and providing transportation for clients, families, or others as assigned.

You will add value by :

Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors.

Providing client documentation to include shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.

Facilitating proper medical care including medication administration for clients.

Assisting clients in daily living activities including health & personal management, achieving personal goals, recreation, and daily household living.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Drivers license required.

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) preferred Academic studies in the areas of psychology, sociology, social work, and education are highly desirable.

• High-school diploma required .

• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders required

Ability to work:

• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (9PM to 7AM)

• Must complete 2 weeks of orientation, Monday - Friday from 8am - 4pm

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
