Transdev Temporary Lead Supervisor in Roxbury, Massachusetts

Transdev in Roxbury, MA is hiring a Temporary Lead Supervisor. The Temporary Lead Supervisor will perform non-managerial tasks to support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations and administrative activities at the yard.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

  • $2.50 per hour above current Teamsters pay rate. (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)

Benefits include:

  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

  • Holidays: 12 observed and 2 floating

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative activities by providing liaison between client and company.

  • Coordinate the fueling operation at the yard.

  • Facilitate problem solving between departments.

  • Coordinate the scheduling of Dispatchers, Yard Supervisors, and Drivers.

  • Monitor operations and coordinates the delivery of service with the Branch Manager and senior management.

  • Ensure that service to Boston Public Schools remains on schedule and professional.

  • Perform duties of the incumbent’s regular full-time classification, as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).

  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Four (4) years of management experience OR two (2) years of passenger transportation management or supervisory experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments.

  • Thorough knowledge of basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation.

  • Ability to analyze a variety of complex administrative problems to make sound recommendations for their solutions and to prepare working procedures.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy, and possess good judgment and discretions.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs as well as VDS, Zonar, Zum, and Geotab.

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while exceeding established goals and objectives.

  • Must be detail oriented and possess effective time management skills.

  • Ability to work with employees to resolve issues, to enhance their professional growth, and to ensure safety compliance.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.

  • Push and pull objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 20 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
