Jordan Hospital RN Clinic Manager, Occupational Health & Case Mgr Employee Health in Plymouth, Massachusetts
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversees the delivery of basic occupational health nursing services related to employee illness and injury and conducts general administrative nursing duties.
Consults on and coordinates medical care when needed;
Conducts Disability Case Management activities
Assures medical staff and outside entities in determining the work-relatedness of injuries, complying with governmental regulations, and conducting investigations;
Assures the delivery of wellness communication and on-site wellness programming
Engages in role in special projects and program delivery
Conducts DOT drug testing and fit-for-duty evaluations
Conducts OSHA mandated and other surveillance exams
Acts as the liaison between client companies and the Practitioners to ensure medical services meet the expectations of the facility leadership and the employees
Assures Human Resources and facility leadership in their initiatives toward health, safety, productivity and engagement.
Promotes the philosophy, mission, goals and objectives of the institution and Occupational Health.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department including flow.
Actively participates in developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide Occupational Health.
Collaborates with a selected group of physicians and Insurance Company Claims Managers, Utilization Review Case
Managers and Claims Managers for those companies to pursue cost-effective quality focused management treatment and interventions by achieving a predetermined financial and clinical outcome.
Functions as a patient advocate, as part of the O.H. Team.
Provides communication with patient insured, company and physicians to facilitate care and make an appropriate and timely plan for return to modified duty work, or full duty
Prospectively participates in the planning for patient treatment, the monitoring of the concurrent treatment and the evaluation of injuries for return to work programs.
Identifies patients needing case manager intervention through MD notification and review of all employee injuries.
Initiates referrals to ensure adequate follow-up care is available to the patient by notifying identified parties with business, insurance and Utilization Review companies.
Tracks OSHA reportable injuries and all body fluid exposures and reporting requirements.
Works closely with area businesses to facilitate modified duty programs for early return to work programs to contain costs of worker compensation programs.
Works with the Occ. Health Team to provide clinical support and care of patients when necessary
Responsible for all human resource activities such as evaluating and corrective action for clinical staff.
Participates in the determination of qualifications and competence of nursing personnel and support personnel in the patient care unit.
Participates in orienting and providing in-service training and continuing education for staff.
Participates in continuously assessing and improving the performance of care and services provided in Occupational Health.
Maintains quality control programs for Occupational Health.
Participates in recommending new services that could be provided in Occupational Health.
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing educational programs in collaboration with staff education for staff.
Demonstrates commitment to improvement of department and organization as a whole

Education/Experience Required:
2 years of job-related experience in occupational medicine or acute care are typically required.
Knowledge of current utilization management principles and current laws.
Good communications skills, interpersonal skills
Knowledge of DIA rules and treatment guidelines, legal rights under DIA for patients and disability laws.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Registration/Certification:
Current/active Nursing License, Current CPR
