Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform evaluations of patient’s status utilizing clinical skills to address range of motion, strength, coordination, sensation, perception, cognition, independence in ADLs, mobility and transfers.
Determine patient’s need for splints, adaptive equipment and/or assistive devices.
Establish appropriate treatment goals with input from patient/family based on evaluation findings.
Develop a plan of care based on results of the evaluation and treatment goals.
Assess a patients potential for rehabilitation based upon the patient/family’s attitude toward rehabilitation.
Maintain medical records with daily documentation of all evaluations and treatment with periodic reevaluations of progress and modification of treatment programs and goals accordingly.
Provide education to patients, their families, nurses, other hospital staff and the general public on ADLs, energy conservation, ergonomics and the role of Occupational Therapy

Education/Experience Required:
B.S. in an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
One to two years of experience in an acute care setting.
Registration/Certification:
Occupational Therapy license.
AHA BLS certification.
