Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform evaluations of patient’s status utilizing clinical skills to address range of motion, strength, coordination, sensation, perception, cognition, independence in ADLs, mobility and transfers.

• Determine patient’s need for splints, adaptive equipment and/or assistive devices.

• Establish appropriate treatment goals with input from patient/family based on evaluation findings.

• Develop a plan of care based on results of the evaluation and treatment goals.

• Assess a patients potential for rehabilitation based upon the patient/family’s attitude toward rehabilitation.

• Maintain medical records with daily documentation of all evaluations and treatment with periodic reevaluations of progress and modification of treatment programs and goals accordingly.

• Provide education to patients, their families, nurses, other hospital staff and the general public on ADLs, energy conservation, ergonomics and the role of Occupational Therapy

Education/Experience Required:

• B.S. in an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• One to two years of experience in an acute care setting.

Registration/Certification:

• Occupational Therapy license.

• AHA BLS certification.
