Is able to articulate department philosophy and provide care accordingly
Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team that includes the patient, family, social worker, psychiatrist, medical staff, rehab staff, CNAs, and RNs.
Responsible for efficient and effective patient flow throughout the unit.
Proactively informs the charge nurse of unusual or potential problems
Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and OSHA regulations.
Provides skilled and holistic care that ensures the nursing needs of the patients are met as identified in the patient’s initial and comprehensive assessments and continues to be modified as the patient’s condition changes.
Administer medications per hospital’s policy
Use hygienic practices and teach patient hygienic practices
Promote a restraint and seclusion free environment through the therapeutic use of self, sensory interventions, and engagement in distracting activities
Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety standards, infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Assist with ambulating and lifting patients as needed
Attend to the patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, etc.)
Monitor patient’s safety for fall risks, suicidal ideation, etc.
Complete all required documentation relevant to patients in a timely, efficient manner. This includes but not limited to:
Assessments (mental and physical)
Attend and participate in multidisciplinary rounds

Ability to read, write and speak English

Ability to sustain a positive attitude and connections to clients
Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team approach to care
Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience within the past five years
Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to needs of patients and clients in varied settings and ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds
Demonstrated customer service skills are essential
Strong computer skills required
Geriatric nursing experience required
Mental/behavioral health experience preferred.
Current Massachusetts LPN license
AHA BLS required
