Berkshire Health Systems Wellness Dietitian in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

This position is typically M-F with flexibility for some evening and weekend hours.
  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Wellness Dietitian with a specialty in community health education and general nutrition principles. Wellness Dietitian responsibilities will include nutrition counseling for individuals and groups in worksite, community settings, hospital and practice with a focus on overweight counseling and lifestyle strategies to prevention of illness. The Wellness Dietitian works as part of a multidisciplinary team and ensures the team has the most current information in the specialty of nutrition. The Wellness Dietitian will be cross-trained for Wellness Coaching within the Wellness team and will work within the team to offer interdisciplinary wellness programming.

  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

  • Experience:

  • Two years experience providing clinical nutrition preferred.

  • Teaching experience and individual nutrition counseling experience required.

  • Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition required; Masters preferred;

  • License, Certification & Registration:

  • RD - Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 6 months of hire.

  • LDN - MA Dietitian/Nutritionist License acquired within 9 months of hire.

  • WELLCOACH - WellCoach Certified within six months of hire.

  • CPR

  • DRIVER - Driver's License

  • Other Requirements:

  • Proven ability to complete projects and assignments with expected outcomes.

  • Excellent presentation skills required.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people and effect change required.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with others and work effectively in team situation.

  • Ability to work in a high paced environment dealing with different issues and solving problems.

  • Must be able to work independently within established policy, standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • Capable of maintaining and providing patient education without supervision.

  • Must be able to develop and implement nutrition programs for different populations (worksites, social groups, seniors).

  • Must be comfortable presenting to groups and in radio and televised media format.

  • Must be willing and able to write short nutrition information articles.

  • Works effectively with peers to ensure standards are met.

  • Must be able to drive and work at multiple sites as need arises required.

  • Must be able to speak English in an understandable manner required.

  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

  • Excellent presentation skills required (from other requirements)
