Berkshire Health Systems Director Perioperative Services in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
The Director of Perioperative Services will partner with the Chairs of the Department of Surgery and the Department of Anesthesia to ensure a collaborative work environment, quality and financial performance. The Director will be responsible for advocating for the Perioperative strategic needs; advising on the planning and expansion of surgical departments, and working collaboratively with other leaders to ensure progress and advancement of the goals of surgical services. Responsible for cultivating a culture where clinical and financial outcomes are defined, measured, evaluated, and improved and supports this by establishing and enforcing all clinical and operational system standards across service line. Works as a team with the other leaders to manage the financial performance of surgical services as the payment approaches evolve.
The Director will oversee the following functions: clinical practice, equipment needs and capital budgets, strategic planning, utilization/efficiency reporting, information systems technical support, inventory management, sterile processing, project management and all administrative staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Six or more years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in both perioperative surgical services and business operations.
Education and Training:
Master’s degree in healthcare, business or related discipline required.
License, Certification & Registration:
Superior interpersonal qualities with an ability to articulate a vision and influence others in the support of broad objectives and accomplishment of strategic aims.
Quickly establish credibility, role model collegiality and respect, and maintain ongoing trusting relationships with physicians, leaders, staff and strategic partners.
Excellent communication, mentor, facilitation, multi-disciplinary team building and conflict resolution skills required.
