Berkshire Health Systems Cardiac Rehab Nurse II in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
In addition to fulfilling the Registered Professional Nurse Job Description, the Cardiac Rehab RN will be responsible for assisting with implementation of all programs in the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department at Berkshire Medical Center.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Experience in the profession of nursing, including at least two years acute cardiac care experience required.
Experience in exercise prescription and exercise testing/training preferred.
Experience in risk factor intervention required.
Experience in all phases of cardiac rehabilitation strongly preferred.
Education and Training:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Baccalaureate degree in nursing required (or meets DPH guidelines as stated in Chapter 105, CMR 143.)
License, Certification & Registration:
RN License – Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts
Current certification in ACLS by the AHA
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates use of effective interpersonal skills with staff, patients and families. Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and competence in area of practice.
Demonstrates the ability to teach both patients and families effectively.
Demonstrates the ability to independently assess the cardiac patient and implement appropriate plan of care (including exercise prescription). Demonstrates a healthy lifestyle. Ability to workk with Defibrillator, stethoscope, sphygmomanometer, computers, cardiac monitors, glucometer, treadmills, exercise bicycles, arm ergometers, rowing machines, nusteps, ellipticals, stair climber and additional exercise equipment
