Greylock Insurance Agency Assistant Manager, Personal Lines in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President, Personal Lines Manager, performs a variety of supervisory and insurance functions in conformance with established Insurance Agency policies, strategies and procedures. Performs all job duties as described in the Account Manager position as well as the duties described below. Key Job Requirements: Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the clients, prospective clients and guests served by the Greylock Insurance Agency. Responsible for supervision of assigned Account Managers. Responsible for the engagement, training, development and performance management of staff. Provides Personal Lines staff with sales and service training and assists them in maintaining their regular workflow. Maintains a thorough knowledge of company specific products and services and assists management with implementing marketing and sales strategies. Works with upper management to create schedules for office coverage as well as company specific and Credit Union trainings required trainings. Works with the Personal Lines Sales and Insurance Processing & Systems Manager to ensure all systems, procedures, rate and product changes as well as insurance company regulations are communicated to and adhered to by personal lines staff. Works with Personal Lines Sales Manager to maintain strong working relationships with both underwriting and marketing personnel from agency companies. Maintains communications as well as relationships with Greylock Federal Credit Union employees in regard to referrals to the Agency. Reviews regular reports with Sales Manager to determine staff workflow and training needs. Ensures that the customer service standards of the Agency are being met. Meets with direct reports and has one-on-one coaching sessions a minimum of 3 times per year. Troubleshoots and reconciles problems and complaints referred by customers and staff. Participates in various civic and community activities. Actively develops new business and promotes Agency services with the community. Develops and recommends policies and procedures as necessary with Operations Manager to ensure uniform implementation of changes and requirements throughout the Agency. Position Requirements: Appropriate Insurance Licensing requirements, coursework and training completed. Degree and/or 5 years of insurance services preferred. Proven supervisory, customer service and problem-solving skills. Computer proficiency. Excellent phone etiquette, verbal communication and organizational skills. Proven attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Proficient knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook,). Professional appearance. Able to maintain confidential information.
