Berkshire Health Systems Anesthesia Technician in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Alternate hours may be 7:00am - 3:30pm.
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Anesthesia Technician is a member of the Anesthesia staff who has knowledge of hospital ethics and policies as they pertain to the job. The Anesthesia Technician functions in an assistant role to the Anesthesiologist and Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA's), and complies with safety and other regulations in the interest of patient care. He/she follows Standard Precautions at all times.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Familiarity with anesthesia supplies,terminology and equipment preferred. Minimum of 6 months Operating Room, patient care or Central Sterilization experience. Excellent organizational ability and familiarity with inventory and supply ordering processes important
Education and Training:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Additional med/surg terminology course work preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
CPR certification required.
ASATT certification preferred.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to work well with people; excellent interpersonal skills and demonstration of customer service ethic in performance of work role.
Demonstrated dependability in maintaining a work schedule.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment with multiple requests for assistance.
Ability to work well under emergency clinical situations.
