The Cigna Group Pharmacy Technician - Picking - Freedom Fertility in Newburyport, Massachusetts

As a Pharmacy Picking Technician , you will be assisting patients in receiving needed medications to help achieve their dreams of building a family. You’ll be empowered to engage patients, insurance companies, and multiple departments to process orders and ensure timely shipment of medications. This role is very detail oriented, and you’ll spend the majority of your day working on our computer system.

Rotating Shift:

Monday - Friday, 12:30PM - 9PM and 9AM - 5:30PM

Rotating Saturdays

Here’s a little more on how you’ll make a difference:

  • Supporting pharmacological services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications

  • Maintaining records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders of patients

  • Sorting, stocking and labeling medications and monitoring inventory

  • Adhering the medication label to the medications

  • Collecting all appropriate medications for a patient order, placing them in a bin, and forwarding them to a pharmacist for verification.

  • Assisting patients with pickup orders at the pharmacy

  • Responding to the requests of facility managers and co-workers, answering their questions, and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacists

  • Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilizing equipment and surfaces & maintaining a standardized picking bench.

  • Undertaking administrative tasks such as record-keeping as assigned by a pharmacist or facility manager from time to time.

  • Must be comfortable standing, bending, walking, lifting for the duration of their shift.

What you need:

  • High School Diploma, or GED

  • Relevant experience or a willingness to learn.

  • MA Pharmacy Technician trainee license required or valid MA Pharmacy Technician License (we will assist with process of obtaining, if you do not have)

  • Microsoft Office proficiency and data entry skills

  • Basic math skills (addition/subtraction/multiplication)

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
