Assists with administrative and clerical functions for Rehab Services. This position is responsible for delivering the high quality service to patients while contributing to the smooth functioning of the department by carrying out some or all of the following responsibilities: Scheduling and checking in patients Processing co-payments Handling medical records Answering phones Addressing insurance issues Copying, filing, faxing

Job Description:

Demonstrates appropriate phone etiquette Checks voicemail messages throughout the day and communicates unresolved issues to appropriate staff members Prepares new medical record with appropriate form, obtains old chart if needed or prints additional info from systems for therapist to review Checks in patients upon arrival, confirming demographics and insurance information is accurate, notifies staff member of patient's arrival, identifies any issues and alerts appropriate staff. Assists office coordinator as requested with updates to schedule book Primary point person for preregistration of patients in Meditech, utilizing other network systems to find information as needed. Processes co-payments and issues receipts utilizing Expanse or other computer system to identify co-payment amount if needed. Prepares charts for return to HIM following appropriate procedure (logging in discharges, use of red bag for transport) Converts registrations from pre-clinic to clinic on the day of the patients visit Prepares memos, program correspondence as necessary utilizing computer.
