Full Time 40 hours per week

The Program Director must be a medical laboratory professional who has:

  • Master’s or an earned doctoral degree in medical laboratory science or related field (biology, chemistry, public health) or education from an accredited college or university

  • Holds ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory\ Scientist/Med Technologist.

  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory, and a minimum of three years of teaching experience in an accredited medical laboratory program;

  • Has knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse staff and student population SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: (MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Medical Laboratory program curriculum and program development and evaluation, as well as needs assessment and marketing of the program.

  • Knowledge of the planning, implementation, and monitoring of program budget

  • Knowledge of NAACLS and other regulatory requirements
