Wellforce Radiographer (U) in Medford, Massachusetts
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, and the Radiologist, performs radiographic procedures that follow radiological standards in a safe, accurate and timely manner which are necessary to allow the radiologist and/or physician to make a radiological diagnosis. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures as required. Maintains and monitors department supplies. Continuously strives to develop/improve relationships with all customers. Actively participates in department quality improvement/assurance.The Radiologic technologist will need to work on an independent basis but will also be required to function as a team player. Duties may overlap with different job descriptions throughout the Imaging Department and Center as a whole, as needed, to assure smooth operations of the entire department and best satisfaction for the patient.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Graduate of a JRCERT approved school of Radiologic Technology.Certification granted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health/Radiation Control Program.CPR certification required.
Ability to manage physically aggressive patients.Ability to transport patients from wheelchair or patient slide board to table.Ability to move portable x-ray machine to examination site.Ability to lift 50+ pounds with assistance using appropriate body mechanics.Ability to wear protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.Manual dexterity to operate radiographic equipment.
