Intern, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

The Environmental Health and Safety Department (EHS) is dedicated to supporting Hologic's mission of empowering people to live healthier lives everywhere every day. EHS provides leadership for site-specific health and safety programs; establishes, monitors, and enforces company policies and procedures; and helps ensure that our employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulatory standards and codes, including company policies and procedures. EHS provides education and guidance on environmental health and safety issues, including work practices and activities involving hazardous and regulated materials, equipment, and environments.

Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

• Work closely with the EHS Site Manager who will provide direction and technical guidance.

• Gain experience and knowledge of Hologic's safety and environmental systems and programs.

• Perform a variety of routine assignments to provide experience and familiarization with the EHS tasks, methods, practices, and programs of the company.

• Routine activities to be assigned may include performing/ creating workplace inspections, help improve our sustainability goals and objectives, developing training programs, and supporting EHS system needs.

We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

• Able to work full-time over the summer months (May/June - August/Sept.

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship

• Rising Junior or Senior.

• Majoring in: Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail with the ability to collect and record information from a wide variety of sources.

• Ability to use standard office tools and software (MS Office).

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Ability to work onsite at our Marlborough, MA location. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided.

The hourly pay range for this role is $23 - $25 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
