Job Description:
In collaboration with the supervising physician, the Nurse provides primary health care for acute and chronic diseases and offers preventative medical care through lifestyle changes, risk factor modification and early detection of disease through routine screening. Plans, develops, coordinates and provides health education/counseling in response to client and community needs. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring high quality practice and is accountable for her/his practice outcomes. Incorporates the professional dimension of the nursing role and provides leadership and direction for continued role development.
Education/Experience:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Current Registered Nurses MA license. Successful completion of a formal Nurse Practitioner program and has completed a Master?s level Nurse Practitioner Degree. National certification through NCC and successful completion of a 2-hour masters level pharmacology course. Able to speak and understand Spanish is required.
Minimum of two years nursing experience in a hospital or practice setting preferred. Must possess a professional level of knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other Managed Care regulations; strong ethical beliefs and the ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of confidential information including respect for patient rights, property and privacy; interpersonal skills in order to relate to patients and employees with all personality types and cultural differences to negotiate effective working relationships and develop positive resolutions to conflicts.
Certification/License:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Current MA RN licensure
